call the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable
There was a long wait to go into the endoscope room.
Treatment was extremely prompt, all staff were respectful and kind to my son and us . The surgeon and anaesthetist were brilliant and kept him smiling. The staff on the ward at midnight weee attentive and lovely, offering us drinks and food for my son. No improvements required at all
Extremely happy with the care that both me and my baby received while staying on ward C23 after birth. During the 2 days (1 night stay) the staff were really helpful with
guidance, helping me adjust to becoming a mum and making sure that we both got all the checks needed after a long labour from the paediatricians/doctors before being discharged. My baby was very unsettled during his first night due to stress from my labour, the night staff were very kind and looked after him for a couple of hours near the desk so that I could get a couple of hours sleep as I was exhausted from being induced 3 days prior. I found the food to be very nice with lots of choices and the staff made sure that I was eating enough after having severe sickness during pregnancy, they often would sit next to me while talking to me and comforting the baby so that I could eat.
Good point - Mandy and Sheila (I think that was her name) absolute credits to the ward
Bad points -
Blood loss - not told how much blood lost during labour. 3 litres, this resulted in me needing a transfusion. I was not told this until I asked to leave the ward. When were they planning to let me know¿
Jaundice - my son developed jaundice. I was not given any explanation as to what this meant or that due to my blood loss and subsequent enimia that my milk would be insufficient, therefore prolonging the issue. I was told on day 5 of treatment. No plan was put in place until after I complained to PALS. Better communication regarding cause, affect and care are needed.
Anxiety - as a sufferer of anxiety disorder for 15 years I was less than impressed that this was merely dismissed as “baby blues”. After what I feel was a traumatic labour, given that my son required treatment and that I was in a strange environment, I dont feel that correct approach was given at all. My mental health is something that is extremely precious to me and is something that I have worked on and struggled with for many years. Mental health training is desperately required. Mandy and Sheila were the only ones to show an ounce of compassion in this area.
the staff were very friendly and caring - please thank them
Was treated with care, respect and dignity on Ward B4 and the consultant was very informative and helpful. Was visited by the anaesthetist who was also wonderful.
Ward A1. Have been in hospital dozens of time and have never been looked after better. Everyone was so kind and helpful and I would like to thank everyone very much - you are a credit to your profession.

I was in a side room and this had not been cleaned after the previous occupant. Arrived on ward about 3pm. I was in 11 days - sheets on bed only changed 3 times, had to ask for one of them. Being in a side room and mobile and independent you seem to be left out. Doctors and nurses brilliant and the care and information given was very good. Lots of other niggly things like being missed on the drinks round and staff coming in in the middle of the night to empty bins and change water jugs meaning a disturbed sleep. Staff need more training on barrier nursing and the correct use of PPE.
Very knowledgable and supportive staff when had difficulty with breastfeeding.
Very much like the 24 hour visiting hours for partners, though more comfortable facilities would be a nice next step.
I was assessed quickly and taken though to Ambulatory care
All staff were professional and caring
I was diagnosed began treatment very quickly
Staff at all levels really lovely
